SAMMY was saved from Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Kill Shelter.

SAMMY is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heart-worm tested negative, de-wormed and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 15 January 2014 and at the time of rescue weighed only 57 pounds.

SAMMY went to his temporary foster home and met his two big GSD and Husky brothers and was great with them. He wanted to keep his foster dad for himself, but that is due to him finally getting lots of love and attention. He is being spoiled eating home made chicken soup  and of course loving it!

SAMMY is a big goof-ball, he loves to be loved, he can be picky with his treats, but that might just be him being smart waiting for the best treats. He is great with all men and woman and children, although he can get a little excited and could knock small children over unintentionally. There are no cats at the foster home, so we do not know how he would be around cats, but he is very responsive and so with training and guidance has lots of potential to live alongside cats. He walks great on the lash, loves to go for rides in the car. He does have some basic commands and loves to lie on the sofa next to his new humans.

SAMMY would benefit from an active family who understands the GSD and working dog breed and the their need. He will need basic and advanced obedience and this is always best done with his new family so all can learn  each others personalities, body language, expectations and boundaries for all can be set

SAMMY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $450.

SAMMY is in one of our foster homes located in San Antonio, TEXAS. Transport to the east coast is available for an additional $175 that is paid directly to the transport company. We post in states along the east coast and Canada  as this gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.
