LAISA was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services and is currently in a foster home in Texas.
LAISA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, lepto vaccine, de-wormed, heartworm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 11 September 2012 and at the time of rescue weighed around 50 pounds.
LAISA foster mums tells me that sh is a pleasure to care for. Although she is not a big dog she has mastered to "counter-surf" and the first night had knocked / pulled of a pan. When her foster mum went to investigate LAISA had her head lowered knowing she had done wrong. She can be protective over food, but this is quite common in dogs that have come from a shelter environment, but she is learning that she is safe and there is plenty of food to go around. Work may need to be continued in this area, and at all times caution taken where children are concerned.
LAISA is house-broken and follows her foster-mum wherever she goes and when she gets home from work, LAISA is there waiting to greet her and show her how much she has missed her.. She is great with dogs of all sizes and has been fun and loving with children, small and older kids. She loves to sleep on the bed and will cuddle and share all of her love. She is responsive to the commands "no" and "get down".
LAISA will benefit from continued training in basic and advanced obedience. This will help set boundaries, learn expectations and understand her new families personalities, body language and mannerisms as it will help them learn hers too.
She is very sweet and will make a wonderful dog for a family that has time to share their love, take her on road trips, she loves to ride in the car and let her explore all the world has to offer with them.
LAISA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption of $350
