DEXI was saved from Forth Worth Animal Shelter, a high kill shelter in Texas.

DEXI is spayed, rabies, core vaccines lepto vaccine, de-wormed and mircochipped. She is too young to be heart-worm tested but is on monthly 27preventative. DEXI has an estimated date of birth of 25 May 2015 and at the time of rescue weighed 27 pounds.

DEXI was in a temporary foster home in Texas before she was transferred up to the rescue in Sebec, Maine and she did great. She was exposed to other dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and cats, although she was curious about them all she was never wanting to chase them down. she was of course at all times supervised when near them.

DEXI now at the rescue is doing great living amongst the other dogs. She is playful and loving and has managed to find her spot next to my chair.

DEXI will need a family that is familiar with the need of both mental and physical exercise and that has the time now and in the future to dedicate to her training and mental stimulation which is critical to having a happy German Shepherd puppy. She does ride well in the car and is happy to chill out, or play with her toys.

DEXI will need at the very minimum basic and advanced obedience training with their family. This allows both dogs and humans to learn from each other, to understand boundaries and expectations, to learn each others body language and personalities, which is very important in a GSD/Human relationship.

DEXI is currently located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine, however, we post in states along the east coast where transport is available.this gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.

We love it when families can take a trip to meet the dogs before taking them home, but understand this is not always possible and so work in arranging transport to or closer to families homes. This can come at an additional cost, generally between $100 - $150 and is paid directly to the transport.
