TRINA was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services, a high kill shelter in Texas.

TRINA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, lepto vaccines, de-wormed, heartworm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 2 April 2015 and weighs around 6 pounds.

TRINA does have demodex mange which is caused by mites becoming active due to a weakened immune system. This is very manageable and NOT contagious at all. She is on daily doses of Ivermectin and I give her some coconut oil, honey, vitamin c and occasionally colostrum powder, all natural immune support. Ivermectin will be provided when she is adopted and the only follow up care she would need are monthly skin scrapes to be sure that all mites and any hatched eggs have been killed. Skin scrapes range cost around $10-$25 depending on how expensive a vet you use.

Even though TRINA has clearly not had a great start to her life, she is a complete love bug, she is very affectionate, she absolutely LOVES to play with the other dogs, she is attentive and loves to cuddle. Her foster family in Texas mix her small body, but huge personality.

TRINA as mentioned loves to play with other dogs and she has no problem playing with either the small terriers or the larger German Shepherds. I do not know how she is with cats as we do not have cats in the rescue, although she is in the small dog room, where we have a rabbit in a hutch and she doesn't bother at all with it.

TRINA would benefit a family that first off is not put off with her demodex mange, once cleared up you would never know she had it, her hair will have grown back properly and she will be as cute as can be. She would like a family that understands small dogs needs, who will let her climb up on their laps and hang out together, but also go on nice adventures and let her experience the sights, smells and sounds that the world has to offer.

TRINA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious sweet girl who was close to being killed a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 3-7 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

TRINA is currently located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine, however, we post in states along the east coast where transport is available.this gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.

We love it when families can take a trip to meet the dogs before taking them home, but understand this is not always possible and so work in arranging transport to or closer to families homes. This can come at an additional cost, generally between $100 - $150 and is paid directly to the transport.
