ARIAIS was an owner surrender due to the owner not really having the time for her and his mother wanting to breed her. GaDaH was contacted and we agreed to take her in.
It is always difficult for dogs that have been living with a family to adjust to the life at the rescue, they don't understand why their family no longer loves them and they miss that individual time, play and cuddles. That being said, ARIAIS has settled in very well, she does play with the other dogs, but she also likes to be very close to me as much as she can and can at times be a little too "needy". This, I believe is simply because she was used to having lots of attention and now she gets it in a much smaller capacity. She is getting better and it is just more of a wanting to lie close, or be touching me, rather than anything negative. I do believe that when her forever family finds her and she settles in and once again feels that love and warmth and has gained trust and respect she will not have those slight insecurities.
ARIAIS gets on with all the dogs of all ages and sizes from the small wire terriers to the larger German Shepherds. She likes to play with the dogs her own age and the longer she is here, the more comfortable and playful she becomes.
ARIAIS is still young and still has a lot of learning to do - she is extremely responsive and with proper training and guidance could do anything you taught her to do. She is all about pleasing her human. ARIAIS needs a family that has the time to spend loving on her, she is extremely affectionate and affection back would be something she would benefit from. She is as mentioned still young and so still has growing to do and an abundance of energy that in a few months will keep her raring to go - so it is important that she has an active family that can work with her, play with her, take her to new places, on hikes, to the lake or on as many adventures as possible. Any kind of canine sport would be great for both her mental and physical stimulation.
We do not have cats in the rescue so I cannot comment on how she is around cats. I do believe once her jumping up has been sorted, she would be fantastic around small children.
ARIAIS is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, tested negative for heart-worm disease and is micro-chipped. ARIAIS has an estimated date of birth of 30 Septemberl 2014 and at the time of rescue she weighed 42.00 pounds.
