TACO was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 18th December 2014, with severe demodex mange and skin infections, his feet were very swollen and bleeding.
TACO came to rescue and started treatment and over time he started to do really well. Initially he would stay in his crate that was in the bedroom, but that was more as he didn't want the other dogs to stand on his very sore feet. Over time and healing TACO started to socialize more with the rest of the dogs and the more he healed the more he played.
On 17th February he was neutered, he still has a good amount of hair to grow, but it is coming along great.
TACO is a very sweet, affectionate boy, when he has gained all his weight and fully recovered, he will truly be a magnificent sable boy. He loves playing with the other dogs, he is getting very active and would benefit from an active family who will be willing to take him on lots of adventures to different places.
TACO will need basic and hopefully advanced training with his new family - this not only helps set down boundaries and expectations, but allows both dog and family learn each others personalities and body-language.
TACO is going to be a big boy and will need plenty of exercise, both mental and physical.
TACO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. He has a date of birth of around 16 December 2013 and at the time of his neuter surgery in February 2015 he weighed 59.0 pounds.
TACO is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350.
