JEWEL was an owner surrender because her family could not afford the surgery that JEWEL needed to save her life.

JEWEL was born with a vein tied around her esophagus and so as she was growing she couldn't keep food down as the vein was closing the esophagus. JEWEL was basically slowly starving to death.

We took JEWEL into rescue and had surgery performed immediately and after a few days came home to the pack, where she was on a slow transition from wet food to kibble. JEWEL has done amazing, she is full of life, and loves to run and play. She does at times still gasp a little and always eats like she is never going to get food ever again, but that is of course a result of literally starving from when she was born.

She has to be watched whilst eating as if she eats to quickly the food gets stuck in her throat and she will throw it back up, she is getting a lot better now, but will still take more time and patience.

She is a complete love bug, she is happy, active, she loves to play with the other puppies and she loves to talk. JEWEL is very bonded with DALLAS our other female pup who is an amputee.

 JEWELs adoption donation is $300.

GaDaH does allow out of state adoptions, however, the family must travel to San Antonio, to spend time with JEWEL to make sure personalities are a good match before traveling home together.
