AKASHA was saved from Animal Care Services, San Antonio, Kill Shelter.

Akasha just absolutely LOVES to play, she is extremely energetic, fetch is her favourite game, be it with me, or the dogs, she loves to instigate games, chase and play with the other dogs and have lots of fun. AKASHA surely is a young dog that appreciates being alive.

AKASHA, is the type of dog that would come out on your jet-ski with you, or anything adventurous that you was doing, she would want to try. It may of course need some coaxing, but she is really fun loving, adventurous young dog.

AKASHA is very eager to please and will be quite easy to train, she is also very affectionate, and loves to just come and cuddle and give lots of love. When out in the field she runs and plays, but also comes up to me and walks beside me, but then wants to play with the other dogs so soon goes running off.

AKASHA would make a perfect family member to either an energetic family that likes to run, bike ride, hike. Or a family with children who have bundles of energy that they all can play actively together.

AKASHA does have the typical GSD "mouthing" that since she was a stray has not been taught to not do this as she was growing up. This is just something that will need to be worked on, and is not a big deal, however, it is important that she is taught not to do it, as some people, who know nothing about dogs, might construe this as a bite, when in fact she is doing an instinctive natural action. She does not do it a lot, but when she gets excited she gets carried away.

She is very well behaved, she sits when told, she goes into her bed, and she settles down quickly.

She is a pleasure to have and a great balance for both pups and older dogs.
AKASHA is going to need a family that has the time to spend with her, and teach her rights and wrongs, GSDs bond very closely with their family and must be treated as one of the family.

Ideally AKASHA would not be the only dog, since dogs are pack animals, they do best when there are more than one of them, however, if a family is active and has plenty of time, love and affection then she will do just fine.

AKASHA , as all GSDs is going to be very intelligent, she will be easy to train, as she is willing and eager to please, however, the basic sit, down and stay will not be enough - GSDs have a great mind (think of all the jobs these dogs can do) and so she will not only need physical exercise, but mental exercise too. Games, hide and seek, puzzles anything where she has to use her mind, and if it involves lots of interatcion with humans and/or other dogs this would be perfect.
