GaDaH has received our second batch of saved kitties from Kabul, Afghanistan working with a veterinarian and rescue in KABUL, Afghanistan to help save some of their abundance of stray and abused animals.
BIANCA was flown into Washington DC, with 12 other kitties on 16th March and driven another 17 hours up to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.
Bianca is spayed, rabies, feline panleukopenia, herpesviral and caliciviral infection, dewormed, monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 8.8 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 1 February 2014. Bianca has also received a dental and a tooth extracted.
Bianca has been at the rescue now almost three months and since the majority of the other cats have been adopted, she has really started to come out of her shell and explore and be involved. She will let me stroke her, but not for too long, although she is learning that it is nice to be stroked. She has started playing and jumping around the cat tree's. She enjoys the catnip toys and wrestles with them. I am sure in a loving home, with a family with a little patience she will soon become the loving cat that she deserves to be.
C
onsidering the ordeal that these kitties have endured they have adapted into great companions. Whilst here at the rescue they have been kept indoors, however, I do believe that they had been mostly outdoor in Afghanistan, as they do act like they want to go outside, however, individual families will have to make that decision on their home and living environment and if need be, build or purchase a cat condo to give the cats the best of both worlds.
Bianca is available for an adoption fee of $100
This fee is not negotiable. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.
Due to borders being closed, it is up to families to call the US and Canadian borders to find the current details on border crossing. Animal Welfare is deemed essential in the US, but quarantine rules entering back into Canada must be followed. We have had families being allowed to travel since Animal Welfare is deemed essential in the US, however, of course following quarantine rules must be followed when returning to Canada.
