GaDaH has teamed up with a veterinarian and rescue in KABUL, Afghanistan to help save some of their abundance of stray and abused animals.

NOD was saved with his two siblings and flown into Washington DC, placed in boarding for a week until we was able to arrange transport up to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. NOD and his two siblings arrived at the rescue on 19 December 2020.

NOD is neutered, rabies, feline panleukopenia, herpesviral and caliciviral infection, dewormed, monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 7 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 15 April 2020.

NOD and his brothers were integrated with two house cats and were very confident in exploring their new temporary home and greeting the other cats. They gave each other space and after a few days were happy and confident around each other.

The brothers don't seem to be have handled too much, but over the past few weeks have been getting more affectionate, although can by boisterous. NOD can be affectionate - on his terms, in typical cat fashion!

Considering the ordeal that these brothers have endured that have adapted into great companions. Whilst here at the rescue they have been kept indoors, however, I do believe that they had been mostly outdoor in Afghanistan, as they do act like they want to go outside, however, individual families will have to make that decision on their home and living environment and if need be, build or purchase a cat condo to give the cats the best of both worlds.

NOD and his brothers are available for an adoption fee of $200 each, or $150 each if adopting more than one brother. We realise that this is considerably more than cats that can be bought online or with local rescues, however, it is important to remember where the boys have come from and understand that $200 doesn't come close to covering even a slight portion of costs incurred.

This fee is not negotiable. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.

Due to borders being closed, it is up to families to call the US and Canadian borders to find the current details on border crossing. Animal Welfare is deemed essential in the US, but quarantine rules entering back into Canada must be followed. We have had families being allowed to travel since Animal Welfare is deemed essential in the US, however, of course following quarantine rules must be followed when returning to Canada.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

ALL animals are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
