ANJA was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine ANJA is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 17 October 2019 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 20.20 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
ANJA arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and was originally put in a communal area with other young dogs. She is young and became a bit of an agitator with some of the other dogs and so she was brought up into the house. She has settled in well and although she was a bit defensive when she first arrived, which is only to be expected since she has been through so much in such a short space of time.
ANJA is a very sweet girl, who now after being here a few days has fit in well with the pack, she eats, sleeps and plays with the other dogs, she adores the pups and smaller dogs, but enjoys playing out in the snow. She is a very affectionate girl, who although still only young, most likley will not grow to be much bigger. She is active and will benefit from an active family. Training is a must so that she can learn what is expected of her, bounderies and rules.
All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed.
