FREYER was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine FREYER is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 21 February 2013 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 67 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
FREYER arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and has settled in great. She is very underweight, but she is a very sweet, happy, affectionate, loving girl. She is currently in a kennel but as we get adoptions and space in the communal area she will be moved to live and hang out with some of the other dogs - she is a larger than life personality and is always wiggling her bum when I go over.
FREYER deserves a family that is going to give her the life she deserves, she has been estimated by the shelter to be around 7 years old, but since being here she acts a lot younger. She needs a family that is active and will take her on adventures and experience all the fun things life has to offer. She needs a good diet to help her gain the much needed weight. She needs a family that understands the importance of training so that she understands expectations, rules and boundaries and by being trained by her family helps both family and dog learn each others personality and body language.
All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed.
