CALLIE was taken in with 3 siblings from a lady in Maine who had 30 cats and was having to move. She has been spayed, rabies, feline 1-HCPCH, has tested Negative for FeLV, de-wormed and micro-chipped. When sje first arrived at the rescue he was given a dose of Feline Revolution. Since being at the rescue she has been fed a mixture of wet and dry food.
Callie is great with other cats and loves to play. She will climb on the cat towers, chase and flick toys around the floor and do somersaults whilst in her play. She is litter-box trained.
When saved Callie was an indoor/outdoor kitten, however, since being at the rescue she has been strictly indoor since it is not safe here for her to be outside.
Callie has all her claws and does use the many scratching posts around the cat area. Being a cat there is potential for her to claw furniture, curtains and such.
We are looking for a family that is familiar with cats and their habits, who will understand their needs in regards to claws, grooming and general health. A family that understands that cats do need annual vet visits to be sure that they are in good health, vet visits are not just about vaccines!
It is important that Callie is given lots of space to run and play and burn off her energy. Cats are natural predators and toys to stimulate this is good for them. Callie loves to play with other cats, but these are cats that she has been around since she was born. Before you introduce cats from different families be sure to do your research.
Callie has been around dogs and she is not intimidated with them at all, however, it is extremely important that if Callie is going to a family with other pets, or other pets are later introduced, research on introductions and ensuring that she has escape exits in case she feels threatened and wants to get away.
Callie is available for adoption for $200
