TOMMIE-1 was saved with her two siblings from a kill shelter in Texas and brought to the safety of the rescue in Sebec, Maine. Tommie is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He is too young to be heartworm tested, but will need testing when he is between 7-9 months and then annually. He has an estimated date of birth of 21 July 2018 and at the beginning of December weighed around 18 pounds. He has been listed as a Husky, however, we have no way of knowing for sure what breed he is, and it is up to you to decide what breed you believe he is and be sure you have the lifestyle and capabilities to care for that breed.
TOMMIE and his two sisters have been living in the house since they arrived at the rescue at the end of September. They are all extremely well socialized with other dogs and are very friendly and affectionate with people. They use to the dog door to go out and play and for the most part do their business, however, they will still go and use the puppy pads that I keep down for other pups.
Tommie was the most confident of the 3 pups when they arrived and was the first to venture outside and explore what was out there. He loves to chase his siblings in the snow and play hide and seak, pouncing on them as they walk past.
Tommie is extremely sweet and very cute and we expect a lot of interest in him and his siblings. We would love to adopt him with another of his sibling. Husky's are a lot of work when they are older and we are looking for a family with experience with huskie's or similar breed. They require a very active lifestyle, throwing a ball in the back yard for 10 minutes doesn't cut it for these dogs. They are also very strong-willed dog and a family that understands this and knows how to work with them is imperative.
We do not have cats or livestock at the rescue and he has not been around any children at this time so we are unable to comment on how he would act or be around them.
If you are husky experienced and have the lifestyle to accommodate a husky or two, and are interested in giving this sweet boy a wonderful, active, fun, adventurous life full of love, please follow the link below to the adoption application.
All dogs (except dogs saved from China) are available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE.
We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
