MUNECA was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick-disease tested; Negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 20 June 2016. MUNECA has been listed as an Border Collie. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think she breed/s is.
MUNECA is a young girl just bursting with energy, she is smart, fun, active and gets excited when she interacts with people. She is located in our kennel building so I cannot say if she is house-trained, however, she uses the dog door to do her business. She can get vocal in the kennels, but I do believe that is more for attention and because she wants to be out running and playing, which is what she should be doing at her age.
MUNECA definitely needs an active family who can take her on adventures and give her lots of ways to expel all that energy that she has. She will need an alpha family who understand the need of training her. We recommend families work on basic and advanced obedience together as this helps to set boundaries and expectations, it also helps by MUNECA and her family to learn each others personalities, body language and help form a stronger bond.
She is great with other dogs of all ages and sizes, she does get excited and can jump on them initially, however, a lot of that is also because she is in the kennel environment and not getting the full attention, love and affection that she needs. We do NOT have cats at the rescue, so we have no way of knowing or able to say how she would act with or around them.
She would benefit from an active family that can take her on adventures, she is good with children, however, as mentioned does get excitable but with training, a routine, an understanding of her family being in charge and of course being able to expel that energy and put her mind to work, she would be an awesome family pet.
MUNECA is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500.
This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

MUNECA is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
