HIGHWAY was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 24 March 2015, it was clear that she had some time had puppies but there was no record of her being found with them.

HIGHWAY came back to the rescue and instantly fit in with the pack, she wasn't phased by the number of dogs all wanting to smell her, she just stood there patiently until it was her time to smell everyone.

HIGHWAY has a great personality in that she loves to play with the dogs and run around, but she also has a mellow side where she is happy to sit back and watch the world go by. HIGHWAY gets on great with the other dogs, from puppies to the wire-haired terriers, the mixes and the other adult German Shepherds. I have never seen any kind of aggression or irritation in her at all.

HIGHWAY would benefit from an active family, she is only just around 3 years old and so has a lot of energy to burn still and keeping her physically and mentally active is the best thing for her. She would be good going on long walks, runs, hikes or whatever adventure is set out for her. HIGHWAY is very responsive, however, as with all dogs, would benefit from some basic and advanced obedience training from her new family. This not only sets the guidelines, boundaries and expectations, but allows both human and do to learn each others personalities and body language.

HIGHWAY is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of around 20 March 2012 and at the time of rescue weighed around 65 pounds, but has and could easily gain much more.
