MONTY was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 14th March 2015. His shelter medical notes stated that he had mild uncontrolled head-bobbing/ticks possible side effects that he endured recovering from Canine Distemper. There is no way of telling what causes his head-bobbing, it doesn't seem to bother him and it is nothing that is contagious or that effects him in his day to day life. He is overall a very happy boy.

We believe MONTY to be a Norfolk Terrier mix, although we are not too familiar with the Terrier Breeds so could be wrong.

At the rescue MONTY gets on great with all of the other puppies and dogs, no matter what their size. He is happy to hang out and play with whoever is there at the time. He is responsive to being told no, he takes treats gently and is a loving and affectionate boy.

MONTY needs a family that will not worry about his head-bobbing and understand that it is just a part of who he is and shows that whatever it was, he had the strength and character to overcome it. MONTY is a nice sized, medium dog who would be great with a family that will take him new places to explore. Who has the time to spend with him training and guiding him in the boundaries and expectations of living with a new family. A family that has the time and wants to train with him - to enable stronger bonding, easier to understand each others personalities and body language and make in general living together much easier.

MONTY is active and loves to be outside, at night he will lie amongst the dogs in the bedroom and come up for cuddles and kisses when he can. He is polite and respectful when taking treats and doesn't snatch even when amongst the other dogs.

MONTY is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 10 March 2013 and at the time of rescue weighed around 21 pounds.

MONTY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300.
