CHUPI was saved from Fort Worth Animal Care Services on 28th February 2015.

CHUPI had been suffering from Demodex mange and skin infections. His feet were badly swollen and infected causing them to bleed when he walked. He was prescribed antibiotics and has been making great recovery.

When CHUPI first came to rescue he was cautious being around the other dogs but this was more out of worry he would get his feet trodden on and so he was happy to hang out in the XL crate in the bedroom, or lie beside where ever I was. Over time with the healing he is venturing out a lot more and enjoys being outside with the other dogs, although still edging slightly on the side of caution and not yet getting involved with the rambunctious playing around.

CHUPI does great in the car and all transporters fell in love with him. He is a large boy and still has a good amount of weight to gain, but he is very gentlye with it. CHUPI is fine amongst the other dogs and has shared his crate with a small Norwich/Yorkshire Terrier mix and was happy to have her snuggle up to him. We do NOT have cats in the rescue so are unable to say how he is with cats.

CHUPI doesn't have any training but he is very laid back and loving and I believe he would learn very quickly. CHUPI needs a family that understands both the mental and physical needs of the German Shepherd Dog and are able to provide him with lots of exercise, which is a lot more than just throwing a ball in the back-yard, he needs lots of stimulation, and going to different places and letting him take in the sights, sounds and smells the world has is a great way to do this, along training! CHUPI does need a family that is able to spend time and work with him on basic and advanced training. This not only helps form a stronger bond, but also allows boundaries and expectations to be set and for both human and dog to learn each others body language and personalities.

CHUPI is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 20 February 2012 and at the time of rescue weighed 75.4 pounds.

CHUPI is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350.
