Mercury was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services with an injured rear leg. He was taken to our vet for x-rays and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. We scheduled him in for surgery and in January 2014 he had Femoral Head Ostectomy Surgery (FHO) which is where they cut off the diseased hip ball joint. The muscles then "Stitch" themselves together to support the leg and after a month or so of exercise to build up the muscle, they live completely normal lives.
MERCURY has made a 100% recovery and to see him run around and play you would never know he had the surgery. MERCURY's other hip is ok. So, by adopting MERCURY you will know that you do not have to worry about hip problems in the future.
MERCURY is:
German Shepherd Mix
Male
DoB: Estimated - 17 October 2013
Neutered
Rabies
Core Vaccines
Heart-worm
Micro-chipped
Weight: approx 55 - 60 pounds
MERCURY is a high energy boy, he loves to chase around, he LOVES water, he is very responsive and would be easy to follow through on his basic training.
AS much as MERCURY is high energy he also loves to hang out and lie down beside me, he sleeps at the side of the bed. He loves to go for long walks and is great with kids.
MERCURY
has never shown any kind of aggression or negative behavior. Prior to his short foster period, he lived with 70 dogs and eats, sleeps and socializes with them all the time and there has never been any kind of issues. CHICO has not yet been exposed to cats or any other kind of animals so I do not know how he would behave. I do, however, believe that letting him satisfy his curiosity and teaching him to respect the other animal, he would quickly learn how to behave around them.
MERCURY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue. Our adoption application can be found by following the link:
