PHILIP was saved from a kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5th August 2023.
PHILIP is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with Fi Nano. He has an estimated date of birth of July 2020 and at the time of transport weighed around 49 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind.
We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue YouTube channel and photo albums on our Facebook page to see a LOT of pictures and videos.
We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.
PHILIP was lucky to go to live with a foster family to give him time out of the kennel and to live in a home environment. He has been doing great, it took him a few weeks to settle down and get into the routine, which is to be expected. The family have said he is great with everyone he meets, including children of all ages. He does still jump a little, which they are working on, but he is just so happy and full of love he wants to shower everyone he meets with his love and affection. He is a smart boy and of course high energy so definitely needs a family that has the time and the lifestyle that he needs to live a healthy, fulfilling life.
He rides great in the car and walks great on the leash.
Philip does have a long coat, which is prone to matting and so regular brushing and if required grooming is needed and this extra factor and potential cost should also be considered.
PHILIP is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for an adoption fee of $550.
Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
