MARS was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.MARS is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heartworm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 31 January 2017 and at the time of rescue in the middle of June 2019, weighed around 50.00 pounds. He is listed as a Chocolate Labrador. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
MARS arrived at the rescue on 24th June and has been such a happy-go-lucky boy since then. With him being here for so long he has stayed in all the living areas and did excellent in all of them. He is currently in one of the communal areas with 15 other dogs of all ages and sizes and gets on great with them all. He is a well behaved boy, who absolutely loves to play either on his own with toys, or with the other dogs, be sure to watch the video's to see what a happy, fun boy he is.
MARS has been great with everyone he has met, I have not seen him with small children, but going off his fun-loving, happy personality as long as the children are respectful and as with all dogs, supervised when together I think he would be a fantastic big brother. MARS is very responsive and will take very quickly to training and any other fun ways of mental stimulation. He is young so needs an active family to go on adventures and walks and of course play games with him. I feel he would make a great family addition.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW SHE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK.
MARS is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $300.
Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
