MARTY  and Hazel were saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved. MARTY & Hazel are neutered/spayed, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and micro-chipped. They have an estimated date of birth of 15 December 2017  and at the time of rescue in the middle of April 2019,  weighed around 60.00 pounds. They are listed as a German Shepherd / Hound mix . We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.

MARTY is very bonded with HAZEL and we are looking to adopt them together for an adoption fee of $600 for both beauties.

They are great dogs,  Hazel  needs  Marty , he is her big brother who she gets security from. She can be insecure when she is on her own, but has never been disruptive or aggressive, she will just bark a little when she is on her own.

They was with a foster family in Texas whilst waiting for transport  and  they said that they had no problems with them they was very happy  and  they was apparently considering adopting them - of course being taken away from what they thought was there forever home, put on transport for 3 days  and  arriving here kind of set them back a little bit and of course the rescue being them living with a lot of dogs, as oppose to a family where they are getting lots of love, attention, walks, training and such keeps dogs a lot happier. The 

Marty  is a lot more confident than  Hazel , but he can still be a little wary of new people  and  places, which isn't necessarily a bad thing - I would just recommend taking things easy with them  and  let them settle in then seeing how things go - they are a lot of fun  and  love to play  and  chase together.

HAZEL is apparently great with cats and has been known to have cats snuggle up with her. Marty has not been round cats as much and so the family was not 100% sure, but feel he would be great once he has any curiosity satisfied.

Although both Marty and Hazel are very responsive, they like all dogs need to be trained and learn the rules, boundaries and expectations of their new home and family. They are young big dogs and so lots of physical exercise with mental stimulation is what these wonderful two siblings need. They are wonderful, loving dogs and with an active, caring, fun loving family who understands they might need some time to adjust they would make amazing family additions.

​ All dogs (except dogs saved from China) are available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550.

Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE.  We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
